01 Requirements

London's prime professional basketball team, the London Lions, were fortunate to get a new home in the Olympic legacy Copper Box Arena in East London in 2012.  Then known as the MK Lions, the move from Milton Keynes to London left the team needing to rebrand.

The Lions urgently needed to increase morale and retain support from their Milton Keynes fans, whilst reaching out to a new community and growing a new fan base, almost from scratch, in London.

02 Solution

Free Rein developed a strategy to help the team retain engagement from Milton Keynes fans, whilst reaching out and mustering support from a new community in London.

Online marketing activity across a range of social media platforms included; campaign creation utilising competitions and promotions, fan engagement and proactive support, content creation and continual website analysis.
