Since the the Porch Project opened its doors in 2009, it has rapidly grown and now supports over 300 young people in Hadleigh and Great Cornard. The Project has now become one of the leading youth projects in Suffolk.
Through a range of services and activities, including film nights and drop-in sessions, the Project engages with local young people and continues to grow and evolve in response to their changing needs.
The Porch Project's constitution is to advance for the public benefit, the physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being and education of young people aged from between 11 years to 19 years who live in Hadleigh, Suffolk or adjacent parishes by the provision of premises, hospitality, counselling, education, recreation, and other facilities. This provision of recreational and leisure time activities is to be provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life.
Free Rein has provided all of the Porch Project Volunteers with branded sweatshirts. We have also designed and built a multi-functional website where young people can register online to attend the project and keep up to date with events happening within the Porch Project. It also has information on how to donate to the cause or get involved as a volunteer.
