We have an immediate need for a Senior Web Developer who will be involved in the day-to-day development and delivery of client projects.

The position can encompass a wide variety of exciting technologies that are used to build modern, interactive and effective web sites.

Free Rein has developed its own CMS system using PHP, MySQL and a number of other open source technologies. Around 75% of projects will be delivered using this platform. The remainder are built in open source solutions such as Wordpress and Drupal.

Skills

• At least 3 years commercial experience programming Object Oriented PHP, integrating with MySQL databases and SOAP/REST API's.
• Ability to write code from scratch or by adapting existing software to meet requirements.
• Knowledge of testing methodolgies and security strategies.
• Linux OS knowledge (including Apache and MySQL configuration) in clustered environments.
• Front-end development, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript – experience of AJAX and jQuery would be preferable.

Responsibilities

• Building new customer websites, email templates and custom projects.
• Ongoing development of the underlying CMS system and custom frameworks.
• Monitoring and maintenance of hosting environment.
• Working to deadlines, managing workloads accordingly.
• Being involved with planning future developments.

• Experience of Web development, preferably within an agency environment.
• Willingness to 'chip in' and assist wherever possible
• Creative Thinking and Adaptability
• Ability to accommodate and carry out changing/differing requests in relation to projects

Salary

Of the order of £30-35K for the right candidate with both development and some experience with hosting
