Twitter have excelled themselves with the redesign of their homepage, the only problem is that it highlights just how ugly the rest of Twitter is. Perhaps though this is the beginning of a complete redesign of the site.

From a design point of view its an interesting example of how login boxes can be made inconspicuous yet functional. Twitter have tried to highlight the fact that their own search feature is just as good as the third party developers whom have built search applications, also it looks like Twitter are making a statement about their popular topics by including a rather well formatted list right there on the homepage.
